In 29th, Jan., SPCC held the Scientific Technology Appraisal Meeting for the “Manufacturing Technology Research of the Super-long, large-size high strength main cable for Suspension Bridge”.

The appraisal committee is composed of 9 domestic bridge experts and guests of the bridge field have been invited at site. Through the on-site uncoiling test, document inspection and research result reporting, all the experts consent that the research results fully meet the requirements of the Mission Statement and also reached to the international advanced level.

This research project which is based on the Xihoumen Bridge Project is a research on anchorage performance of 1770MPa、1860MPa main cable suspension bridge, the manufacturing technology of super-long large-sized main cable strand and the intellectual level retractable cable device. SPCC prepared a testing strand with the specification of Ф5.1x169, 1860MPa, 4250m long, and utilizing the intellectual level retractable cable device to do the full-length uncoiling test.
